Support for postnatal depression

PND Wellington can help women suffering from postnatal depression.
The group is spearheading the formation of a National PND Group for New Zealand.
In the meantime, women can get a copy of their booklet about PND which happens for a lot of women who do not wish to or can't breastfeed.

The group offers:
- support, information and education to women with PND
- support, information and education to womens' partners, whanau or family
- community education on PND

Services:
Telephone Support Line - open 7 days, 9am - 9pm.
04 472 3135
Recovered women, who have completed an 18 hour training course offer telephone support to those who experience difficulties.
Eight Week, structured therapy based support courses are offered throughout Wellington; Kapiti and the Hutt. These are facilitated by a suitably qualified and experienced counsellor and a creche is provided.
Lending Library - open to clients; health professionals etc
Face to face counselling - We can organise counselling at a very minimal rate .

Our eight week structured therapy based support courses are an excellent way for women to meet with others who are experiencing PND, and to gain skills and strategies for coping with their condition. These groups are held in the neighbourhood and we offer a creche to those who require it. We don’t turn any woman away who is unable to contribute financially and women from any area of town can attend any group.
